Northern Border Stores – As a means to revamp the image of Duty Free America’s northern border stores, ASL was asked to develop a singular concept that could be implemented in multiple US/Canadian border crossings. The office worked back and forth with the client to develop a variety of potential schemes before selecting one. The concepts were all similar in the way they emphasized the use of regional wood accents along a great hall that is supported by an exposed structure. The final scheme should begin to appear in the coming years.

Seattle- The concepts for multiple stores in Seattle aimed to capitalize on the unique heritage of the Seattle-Tacoma region by blending the identifying brand characteristics that Duty Free Americas is known for with the regional character of the Pacific Northwest Modern style. The designs made use of many locally sourced products to ensure that both a sustainable and regional aesthetic was created.

Ottawa- Working within an existing concourse at the Ottawa airport, ASL developed a scheme that featured a glass finned ceiling that played off of the concept of being inside an ice cave.
